An early example of loadbearing facade is 91 York Street. These panels have a water-washed exposed aggregate finish and were delivered pre-glazed. The loadbearing facade was used in conjunction with Hanson precast permanent floor formwork, precast columns and stairs.

Another example is a typical hotel application, the Parkroyal Hotel at Parramatta. Here the loadbearing panels also have a water-washed finish.

51 Druitt Street is virtually a totally precast building. It has a loadbearing, pre-glazed, sandblasted facade with red water-washed panels at the lower levels. On this building, Hanson Precast also supplied the prestressed permanent formwork flooring, precast columns and stairs.

No 1 Martin Place, Westin Hotel, is an excellent example of a polished, reconstructed, loadbearing facade. This rich exterior is carried through to the inside with similarly-finished internal wall panels. The loadbearing facades had specified concrete strengths of up to 80 MPa.
