Safety Barriers act as permanent median or edge barriers and also have many uses for temporary traffic control.

These units are made to Standard RTA specifications and are designed to reduce crash severity by keeping errant vehicles travelling parallel to the traffic and upright. Head on collisions are prevented and damage to vehicles is minimised.

Hanson Safety Barriers are produced in two basic types each with a wide variety of configurations to suit most requirements

Type J (New Jersey) Barriers

Produced in two lengths, 3000 mm and 6000 mm by 800 mm high, with and without drainage slots. The 3000-mm units may also have 75-dia. core holes supplied for easy erection of hoardings/sight barriers around construction sites, etc. There is also a companion 3000 mm long tapered end unit as a transition to the full-height unit for safety and appearance.

There is also a range of half-kerb units in 3000 mm and6000 mm lengths, along with a 3000 mm tapered end unit, which are useful where there is limited space at the side of a road or bridge abutment or tunnel. See Design Data for range of configurations available.

Type F Barriers

Produced in two lengths, 3000 mm and 6000 mm by 840 mm high, with and without drainage slots. There is also a companion 3000 mm and 6000 mm long tapered-end unit as a transition to the full-height unit for safety and appearance. See Design Data for details and available configurations.
