FIGURE 1 TYPICAL designs to suit domestic, residential and small office construction.
PRELIMINARY DESIGN DATA
Because there are so few restrictions on the use of the system, it is difficult to provide any preliminary design guides, unless very specific assumptions are made. However, the Typical Designs assumed in FIGURE 1, cover those common to domestic, residential and small office situations. They are a practical starting point, particularly when comparing this system with other flooring systems.
TABLES 1 and 2 give details of the Typical Designs illustrated in FIGURE 1, for simply-supported and continuous spans respectively. CHARTS 1 and 2 give corresponding spans for various superimposed loads, for simply-supported and continuous spans respectively.
DETAILED DESIGN
Detailed design of Transfloor systems should be prepared by the Structural Engineer responsible for the structure as a whole. See also Other Data for assistance in the final design.
